Context and challenge
Public development banks (PDBs) are pivotal to financing agriculture, but often operate in isolation, with limited coordination on standards, risk-sharing and green mandates. A concerted continental voice is needed to scale sustainable and inclusive agricultural finance.
AFRACA anchors the African PDBs agenda, working with development partners including the AfDB and AFD.
Strategy and approach
The programme produced the Nairobi PDBs Declaration on Sustainable Agricultural Finance and is convening the Africa Forward Summit for a joint declaration by African PDBs and development partners. A dedicated AFRACA–AFD work plan supports the analytical agenda.
Through forums and joint declarations, PDBs align on financing sustainable, resilient and inclusive agricultural systems.
