African Public Development Banks are pivotal to food systems transformation, yet many lack structured frameworks for appraising and financing food systems investments. Building this technical capacity is a core commitment of the Nairobi Joint Declaration and the Lomé Action Framework.

Approach and Activities
Delivered on 28–29 May 2026 in Lomé alongside the AFRACA PDB Forum, with support from BOAD and AGRA, the training covered food systems finance frameworks for Secretariat staff and PDB representatives. Each participating PDB committed to developing an institution-specific food systems finance action plan within 90 days of the training.
